Sonstige Updated Linuxmod4 für RAZR2 V8 512MB und 2GB

Dieser Linuxmod ist nicht mehr aktuell, die Dateien wurden auch entfernt. Für den aktuellen geht es hier weiter: RAZR2 V8 Evolution 2 Mod [512MB / 2GB Version]


This is a new Linuxmod4 test firmware, for both V8's.
Changes are:
Updated backup: user settings are now backuped and restored as well
VUI Mod: Gives the possibility to add any available voice command as long as that language is supported by the LP
Font Mod: Changes the font.

Now to the details of installing.
Because of limited size of the CG52 I had to leave the MPlayer programm out in both firmwares and also the content of the vui folder and the content of the fonts folder. These are supplied with the firmware and need to be copied after the flash onto the V8.
The best way is to install the supplied folders and files straight after RSD says PASS. Leave RSD running and open FileZilla (or any other FTP software), connect to the V8*) (it is already in USB-Lan mode due to RSD) and copy those files and folder onto the V8.
I explain for each phone what goes where

2GB V8: you just have to copy the complete MPlayer folder into the Programms folder on the 2GB partition (mmc/mmca1/Programms), Thats it! MPlayer can be found under the Multimedia menu.The content of the vui folder, not the folder (!!!), goes into the vui folder on the small partition (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/vui/) and the content of the fonts folder, not the folder (!!), goes into the fonts folder in the small partition (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/fonts/).

512MB V8: Is very much like the 2GB, except the MPlayer folder goes into the mmca1/Programms folder in the user memory (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/mmca1/Programms) and the MPlayer can be found in the Multimedia menu.
The content of the vui folder (not the folder itself!!, only the content!) needs to be copied into the vui folder in the user memory (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/vui), the content of the fonts folder, not the folder (!!!), goes into the fonts folder on the user memory (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/fonts/).

The Font Mod (Thanks to anhvu!) is auto run and starts at each reboot of the V8. The thing is now that it takes some time for the font to change, which is due to the quite big amount of scripts and commands the V8 has to go through, but it should start after 30 seconds after booting up, you can see when it is done as the startup animation and sound are being played. It is possible to use your own fonts, as long as they are True Type fonts (*.ttf), but make sure that the font is complete as some fonts do not have numbers (!!!). You even can have one font for the letters and another for the numbers. It is quite simple to change the fonts, all you have to do is to copy the choosen font into a new folder on your PC and rename it to MyFont.ttf, then copy it again and rename it this time to MyNumber.ttf, so you should have now 2 fonts in that folder, MyFont.ttf and MyNumber.ttf. These 2 fonts you have to copy into the fonts folder on your V8 (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/fonts/) and reboot, around 30 seconds after reboot the V8 will have a "little" re-startup and your new font is displayed. As you can see there is one font for the letters (MyFont.ttf) and one for the numbers (MyNumber.ttf), the choice is yours. Just one word of warning, some fonts will be too big and skin ini files need to be changed, as, for example, size 22 is different for each font.

The vui mod gives the posibility to add some voice commands in your language (as long as they are available) to your V8 as long as the LP has that language, for example the LP0003 has brazilian-portuguese language, but no brazilian-portuguese voice commands, with this mod it is possible now. There are a few available on my site, just copy the portuguese folder into the vui folders on your phone (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/vui) and reboot. If you have brazilian portuguese language you will have now also brazilian portuguese voice commands.

Backup, please create a backup BEFORE you flash and save those files to PC, AFTER flashing create a backup again and now replace the files on the V8 with the files you have on your PC, when that is done then do a restore backup, provided pictures and ringtones are where they were before - needed for contacts only.

That's about it, oh, also the 2GB has been upgraded from 80.56.15R to 80.56.1BR (Call Voicemail bug is gone).

Hätte ich eigentlich auch in Deutsch schreiben können, bin aber zu faul gewesen da diese Firmware frisch von dem PC kommt.

Gibt aber hier und da noch Probleme mit der Schrift. Als kleines Beispiel das hier im Setupmenü:

 

Ich muss einfach pushen :D Also es liegt nicht an der Schrift, sondern eher am Skin selber. Das überlagert sich.

Da müssen die Skinner unter euch jetzt die Schrift rauslassen, sonst gibts Probleme :D

 

Hat mir Spike gerade gesagt das es Probleme mit custom skins gibt.
Ich vermute es liegt an den default ini Dateien die in dem CG52 Skinordner sind, weil die von dem default skin sind.
Ich uploade gerade eine FW ohne diese default ini Datein, es könnte sein das diese FW dieses problem behebt.

Die deutschen Voice commands müßten eigentlich funktionieren, habe es nur kurz probiert. Obwohl es eine LP0039C ist gibt es Voice Commands für Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Italienisch.

 

Ich schau mir den mal Wenn es dann klappt, ist das die richtige Version

Die andere Sache mit der Firmware ohne die default *.ini files...

Werden die Skins da nicht sauer, wenn ihnen die *ini files fehlen? Also die Standardskins wie Alkali oder so?

Ob die sauer werden bleibt abzusehen und es kann aufschlußreiche Antworten auf die Bedeutung diese ini Dateien geben.

 

Also...ich hab mir den Flash ohne diese Defaults draufgehauen und ich muss sagen, es bringt eher Nachteile

Naja, so schlimm find ich's jetzt nicht.

Sieht eigentlich nur danach aus, dass die Grafik für den Kopf des Untermenüs nicht vorhanden ist, bzw. geladen wurde (popup_header* müsste das sein)
Und dass die Schriftfarbe für markierte Einträge auf Schwarz gestellt ist, was sich bei dem dunklen Hintergrund natürlich blöd macht.

Wie siehts denn bei meinem neuen Skin aus? Genauso?...

Kann nämlich erst morgen testen.

Aber ich hab nochmal den anderen Linuxmod4 drauf, also den ersten. Da liegt nur ein Problem mit der Position der Schriftart vor. Wo genau und ob das mit dem Skin direkt zusammenhängt kann ich im Moment noch nicht sagen.

 

Hmm, ich hab jetzt mal versucht einen Fontchange durchzuführen. Mit einem beliebigen Font aus dem Windowsordner Fehlgeschlagen, Handy rebootet kurz und bleibt dann "stecken".

Das Problem: ALLE Schriftarten enthalten Ziffern. Oben steht jedoch das der Font keine Ziffern enthalten darf. Wie ist das machbar?

 

Bin noch nicht zum Testen gekommen. Aber für mein V3xx hab ich die *.ttf Fonts immer mit FontCreator 5.5 angepasst. Da kann man ohne Probleme die Zahlen rauslöschen.
Oder andere Idee, ganz klassisch (aber umständlich) wie damals. Einfach die orginal Font vom Handy nehmen und mit Fontcreator alle Zeichen ersetzen. Und dann unter nem neuen Namen speichern.

Hab dir mal die Zrnic (Playstation) Font rangehangen.

Einmal die komplette (nur alle Ziffern rausgelöscht) und einmal die Font nur mit Zahlen und Zeichen wie sie das V3xx gebraucht hat.

Mal kucken.

Hehe, das wird etwas dauern Denn ich darf das V8 nochmal neu flashen Da dein skin irgendwie das V8 dermaßen ins Rudern gebracht hat das garnix mehr ging

Ne, die Fonts müßen Ziffern enthalten, nur manche Fonts haben keine Ziffern. So ist das gemeint.
Ich versuche mal etwas anderes.
Eventuell sollte man mal verschiedene Skins probieren und dann sehen ob es immer das selbe Problem ist (die default ini Dateien sind es dann) oder ob es mit jedem Skin verschieden ist (sind dann die skin ini Dateien).
Ich hänge mal einen anderen Font an der auch geht.

Ich habe mal die "normalen" default ini Dateien genommen und der Erfolg ist in den angehängten Bildern zu sehen, Maxx by Vimm, Indium und Luxury Linuxmod.
Uploade gerade die neuen FW unter derselben Link wie im ersten Post.
